The Ranch (TV Series 2016–2020) Poster

not funny and WAY too much drama

I couldn't stop the 2d episode. well-nigh of the jokes were crickets for me. i predicted the next line numerous times. so many recycled jokes. and i personally dislike family unit drama mixed into my comedies (1 viewing, iii/12/2020)

okay, my brother asked me if i liked sam elliot

My fault was listening to him tell me well-nigh a western on netflix called the ranch...it is no fashion a western...its a crappy one-act with ashton whats his name with debra winger and danny masterson and a host of others proclaiming to be comedians ... the start give away was the canned laughter ... it was like tuning into two and a one-half men merely it was a cabin in colorado instead of a embankment house in malibu ... well, i struggled to make it through 2 episodes and that is the end for me...in that location is better trash out there to capture my immagination

Pretty entertaining Netflix series

Sam Elliot and Debra Winger are two actors I would never think would be on a sitcom, but play there parts perfectly. Ashton Kutcher and Danny Masterson best remembered from That 70s Prove(1998-2006) has Hyde and Kelso, at present play brothers.

The serial is Netflix, then yous know that they can become away with such foul linguistic communication and insane sex talk. Everybody seems actually relaxed in there roles, seems to exist a relaxed working environment. It shows a fun realistic wait at small town life. Kutcher and Masterson practise accept instant comic chemistry, like they did on That's 70s Show. Sam Elliot does well as the very tough but loving dad, and then does Debra Winger has the not quite has tough merely loving mom. Does bring some good laughs, a very fun adult comedy show.

This drama serial grows on you

I don't remember this series would interested me long plenty, simply every bit it turned out it's such a great series. The canned laughter annoyed me a little chip, but afterwards awhile, the laughing event simply put more hot sauce on it. The most amazing thing of this series is the dialog, so funny but at the same fourth dimension then deep. Life on the ranch is really tough, with an aging stubborn father always nit-picking on the two sons who are ever humiliated by their male parent who rarely says good things to them. The 2d amazing matter is the fantastic bandage, every one of them carries the story so realistic. I rarely enjoy a dramedy so much. This is also the start time I gave it high eight star rating then changed to nine. This ane but deserves information technology.

Red neck novella

This serial starts off equally a comedy and as a one-act is is OK. Given how talented the actors are it should have been better. Only as information technology progresses information technology gets less and less funny. At some point it starts being unfunny all the fourth dimension,. and then it turns into a carmine neck novella. It's merely painful. The last straw comes when the funniest character on the show "disappears". I stopped watching it and so I don't know if he re-appears. Given how bad the show has become it wouldn't surprise me if his twin sister separated at nativity and raised in a posh NYC household all of a sudden comes to boondocks.

Brilliant

Alert: Spoilers

I've merely finished the whole thing and I enjoyed equally of it, I liked all the characters in it they were all actually likeable and funny. It genuinely takes you on an emotional rollercoaster, 1 infinitesimal I'thousand laughing the next I'm crying then I'k frustrated, I genuinely actually really enjoyed this. I was curious how it was going to exist without rooster but it was even so good and the bringing on of dax shepherd was brilliant. At the where colt told his dad he bought the bennet home back brought me to tears. All in all great watch I'd recommend this to anyone.

Skillful show

Warning: Spoilers

Some people dont like the express mirth track but information technology doesnt bother me. This evidence started out pretty funny and Ashton Kutcher and rooster had a good dynamic forth with the dad. Its corny but it's a sitcom. It likewise had some skillful dramatic moments every bit well. I'd say it started going downhill when they had to kill off rooster. They brought in a new guy, dak something, and he did pretty good but it wasnt the aforementioned. I think netflix actually wanted to wrap it up and then every bit a event the final flavor sucked. I'd notwithstanding recommend it for the earlier seasons.

Bully Cast, Only A Scrap Lukewarm So Far..

Warning: Spoilers

I had heard nigh this Netflix original awhile back when the consequence came up at Netflix about not actually airing an entire season of a show at once, just instead splitting them upwardly as this one I believe has washed (?) in something similar 10-episode increments?? Another thing advertised about this bear witness is the reunion of information technology's stars, Ashton Kutcher and Danny Masterson of "That 70s Show", this time they're playing brothers who must go along the family ranch together.

Their dad is played by Sam Elliot in a rather stereotypical conservative grapheme who loves Reagan, and it surprised me a flake to come across veteran Debra Winger playing their mom. I had just seen her in the film, "Jump of Faith" the other night!

I dunno, so far I'm a scrap on the fence on this 1. It's not a bad show really, I merely tin't seem to get into information technology. The most amusing thing and so far is, like hearing someone say "f**k" with a alive-studio audition laughing in the background! LOL

Who knew 25 years ago that something like this streaming service would be cranking out the shows Netflix has been doing?- comparable now to whatsoever major network. I am going to keep watching a few more than of these. I will say the show is amusing enough so far, so maybe I'll requite information technology a higher rating down the road..

Good with the bad

I like it and you lot should too. But by the time you get to the 2018 flavor wow does it drag on and on and on and on. It stopped being funny. It stopped existence a sitcom. You really want the episodes to be over.

Cracking at first

Kinda shocked this was pretty skilful. They shouldn't take got rid of the rapist dude, he was pretty funny. Nice they gave Hank a job. A few bad things are Elisha Cuthbert. You lot would dump Cuthbert for the Goss daughter, not the other way around. Then Beau dumping the Lawrence lady for that hag, seriously??? Last 2 seasons were atrocious. Kutcher accent.. requite me a break. For i the emphasis was horrible when he would do it. He kept forgetting lmao. Plus yous are in Colorado. Coloradians don't have accents. Netflix is a joke. They can ruin whatever show.

Information technology'due south Actually Good

Warning: Spoilers

I'm a wee bit gobsmacked that this bear witness is actually good. I fully came to information technology expecting the usual unfunny & banal US one-act in the mould of Brooklyn Ix-Ix or The Large Bang Theory (but permit's be honest, the list is endless). Yet, The Ranch really has a bit of soul, a bit of depth that makes it engaging & funny.

The casting works. Sam Elliott & Debra Winger add existent gravitas & when placed in contrast to the more low-cal-weight Kutcher & Masterson some real magic is born. I'k really pleasantly surprised due to the latter's track records.

This made me express mirth & kept me watching/interested - what more can you ask for?

CONS: Canned laughter = YUCK!

Well washed! I await forrad to every new function! 🐄

Fifty-fifty after the disruption of the casting change, this evidence bounced back and is better than ever! Information technology could have tanked.

Part four is strong and each character deals with their own issues, rather than focusing on a single storyline for the entire ten shows, which would be tiresome.

I hope this show is on for years and that they made more episodes per part!

Thanks for the amusement!

That seventy's country prove

I like this show a lot, it's funny and information technology has that sort of land wit about it, but this has to be said, did they simply basically recast that 70'south show in a cowboy setting? I tin can't be the simply i that noticed that about every cast member that was bachelor for this show from that seventy'south show is here. The just ones that aren't here are the ones that take engagements to other shows.

As far as this bear witness is concerned picking the cast that they did was the right movement, they threw in a few serious people for the state consequence but otherwise it'south basically a comedy/drama mix with a cast that's used to working with each other.

ix/10 good casting, practiced writing, entertaining to watch.

Bad Enough For Prime number Time

I think the talented comedy writers take been canned 1 way or other. American sitcoms are just plain bad for some fourth dimension now. I watched half of the outset episode. The laugh track was laughing at every dumb quip regardless if it was supposed to exist funny or not. It really didn't affair much considering neither was actually funny. Information technology'south bad plenty that they run crap like this on regular telly channels with censorship, only this is on Netflix. Some talented actors for such a garbage script.

Sam Elliot is a Joy to Watch

Who knew Sam Elliot was so good at comedy? He is easily the best thing about this new Netflix series. Elliot is an Role player at the elevation of his arts and crafts - a joy to watch.

On the farthermost other stop of the spectrum is Ashton Kutcher. He essentially plays Kelso, the same character he played for vii seasons on the "70s Testify". Someone should have him aside and explain that the abiding mugging and affectations might be "cute" for someone in their mid teens - merely when someone pushing 40 does it... it is simply very very creepy.

Danny Masterson is likewise in the series - playing essentially the same character he played on "the 70s Show".

Both Kutcher and Masterson need to find more challenging roles - they are far too long in the tooth to continue to act like Loftier School students.

Not bad Bear witness

Warning: Spoilers

One of my favorites. You lot have to stick with it for the commencement few episodes and get to know the characters in that location is no style y'all can just watch it for a few minutes and say its deadening or doesn't have much of a story line, equally it takes a few episodes for the characters and story to evolve.

I read about the canned laughter I must be deaf every bit I never noticed. Also people moaning virtually the length of the Intro which turned them OFF the show, really I hateful it says yous can SKIP the intro, and then what is the problem.

This is not meant to be a fall over express joy out loud comedy. Its got funny and humours bits yes, but its about a disjointed family with a begetter who is uber critical of everything his sons exercise and doesn't actually realise that the reason why they are like they are is because of him. Also he is incapable of forming a female relationship since his break upward of his marriage. He just cant let go of the way he was brought up himself.

I dear the characters, and over the seasons it has got more and interesting. It has sad bits too, emotional bits, funny $.25, but its virtually growth of a family and acceptance of who they are.

If you want to sentry express joy out loud comedy this is not the show, just if you desire to watch a real family learning to live together with all the trials and tribulations that go with information technology, touched with humour then this is for you. The darkness towards the end did not spoil the show for me equally there was a reason Roosters Character was removed merely it was washed in such a way that the actor could be able to come up back.

I cant wait for the next part I retrieve Netflix to exist honest have some of the best shows now earthy, meaty, funny, good story lines, and they are they merely shows i actually binge watch.

The acting is superb, Sam Elliot i could accept socked him a few times he really annoyed me which is what his character called for, and I love Debra Winger i wish she had more part in this show.

Anyway its a corking show.

Small Testify, Big Heart.

A fun and enjoyable plot driven sitcom that hits home in terms of jokes, characters and an entertaining storyline. The show as a whole will never be the adjacent friends but sometimes that'southward what makes it so unique and intriguing to watch, a cute footling testify that many wont have seen but that you can exist proud to accept watched.

Ashton Kutcher plays the lead role with his 70's show castmate Danny Masterton playing his crude and wisecracking older blood brother. The rancher family is something that is rarely seen on-screen and shines in originality.

The success of how each episode is structured with a wonderful bleed over between episodes that keeps the timeline flowing fantastically and makes information technology and then seamless its hard not to like. The dearest involvement beingness Elisha Cuthbert is subtle yet plays an important role in the show which takes it to another level only by far the master story is about how being a rancher is incredibly difficult, how difficult times can fall upon them and how they cope with such troubles. This story is wonderful and I thoroughly loved watching it unfold.

Overall a small show that packs a heavy punch of a story, greatly casted and acted with the timeline flowing effortlessly which adds up to a slick little gem of a show.

Not certain what people saw in "Rooster"

Fired actors are a lot like second string quarterbacks..... They're the most popular guys in town. People e'er recall the actor who isn't there anymore ( fired or quit) was a lot better than he actually was. Call back of all the changes MASH went through. Gunsmoke , the same. I honestly didn't run into any drop off between Rooster and Luke. Pretty much played the aforementioned character, an alcoholic who can barely get thru a day so gets drunk. And the viewers who complain nigh the laugh track.... They all sound like they're the only ones who noticed it. The show may have it's flaws just it'due south easy to watch, entertaining and you definitely don't have to piece of work hard to follow information technology. My kind of show!

Watched information technology all earlier I reviewed

Warning: Spoilers

This plan...in all honesty, I watched it because Sam Elliott was in it. I loved information technology immediately. There's some campyness and bad canned laughter...simply I identified with the story line.

I'll admit, I was correct annoyed when they killed rooster. Just I stayed with information technology.

It'southward the just Netflix serial that gave a proper beginning, middle and cease.

Has Its Ups And Downs

I just started rampage watching and am nigh done with Flavor two, and I'thousand kind of ambivalent near it. The laugh track is so annoying information technology almost makes it unwatchable, and at that place's always music playing quietly in the background which is just weird. I like most of the characters, my favorites being Beau and Rooster; but every bit it progresses it seems similar every episode is centered around Colt and Abby, who are the most annoying and uninteresting people on earth. It could be and so much ameliorate, then I'll keep watching for a while and hope for the best.

What happened?

I started to scout the latest season on Netflix, it just came out today, ix/13/19. What happened? The previous seasons were funny and so this season is terrible. The laugh track is merely incorrect, it'due south not funny. Nothing is funny and the worst part is watching the characters try to be funny and it's just not funny, menstruum. I thought I would like watching this eason only no way, the show is over.

A sad commentary on 'existent Americans'.

I started watching this serial, with humorous goings on pretty regularly. Until....I started to realize that these are exactly the blazon of folks that considers themselves the just 'real Americans', and immigrants need not apply. Yes, information technology's about a lot of folks that peaked in high school. People who think it'due south normal to drink and drive, get into fights and go to jail. Doesn't anybody take a police record for public fighting, boozer and disorderly? That'due south how it seems on 'The Ranch'. Even the supposedly smart characters are depicted as too ignorant or stupid to employ effective birth control. Pregnancy? Oh, that'southward the other person'due south responsibility; only, both of the 'other peope' rely on someone else to exist responsible. Good intentions, but zero follow through about of the time. Ornery is supposedly a beneficial grapheme trait here. Basically stupid people on parade. Just, this actually really is what middle America is similar. Nosotros all know plenty of people like these. We take met the enemy , and information technology is, U.s..

This could take been a actually great sit-com

The Ranch has a variety of small problems which add up to one larger one: It really doesn't work. Commencement of all, the prove can't decide whether it's a sit-com or not. (Information technology isn't.) And so the producers opted to use a laugh track (bad decision) to make certain we (the audience) know it'southward supposed to be a sit-com. Actors like Ashton Kutcher and Danny Masterson (both alums of That 70s Evidence) can play comedy as long every bit they don't have to play it for laughs. However, the scripts are salted with silly jokes, which could be delivered in an underplayed manner that might make them work but for the laugh runway. That makes them sound stupid rather than witty, lame rather than droll. Sam Elliott provides a great anchor as the crotchety old rancher who is facing financial ruin. The family is at a loss to know what to do. It's a serious prospect, merely there is always the day-to-day humor that would help them through the crisis. That can't exist washed successfully with a laugh rail. Debra Winger as the estranged wife and mother who owns the local bar is not given much to do. But when her contribution is meaningful, she doesn't disappoint. In curt, the comedy needs to arise out of the condition. The bandage is quite capable of doing this. The writers and the showrunners need to get out of the way and let them do it.
